DomDomSoft Manga Reader is a program that allows you to read manga offline. Manga is japanese comics, which have become very popular worldwide.

It is possible to find Internet sites that contain a lot of manga files in every possible language. In English, for instance, there are websites like TenManga, OtakuWorks, MangaToshokan, MangaReader, StopTazmo and many others.

There are many sites that allow you to read manga online. Most of them have a download section, which allows you to download the JPG files that form one comic. Sometimes these are images of scanned pages; some other times they are originally created with a graphics editor. Downloading those files to your hard disk allows you to read those files when you are disconnected from the Internet.

To download files to your disk, you will need another free utility provided by the authors of this program, DomDom Manga Downloader, which can be downloaded for free in this same site.

DomDomSoft Manga Reader displays the manga files on your computer´s screen, in the right order. It allows you to indicate the folder where you store the images (usually named 001.jpg, 002.jpg etc.). The program allows you to browse the images like if they were pages in a magazine, choose the background color and zoom in or out. Each time you run the program, it will open the last page that were reading the last time you used the reader.

So cool, but sometimes freezes.

Been using this for years, haven't found a better program if you wish to view manga vertically, just scrolling down, only found 3 flaws. 1º Fails to open some zip and rar's, when inside them is a folder, instead of just all the images. 2ª Crashes on big folders, unreliable on folders above 200mb. 3º If you have in one folder, subfolders as well as images, it's impossible to browse just those images, the software only shows you the folder inside.Ohh yeah, it also plays gifs! (no WEBM though).
